Crossing Patrol Carnhill Entrance

15th Jan 2025
On the last day of the first term, we were informed that our school crossing patrol was not being replaced at the Carnhill entrance to the school.

Senior management appealed this decision, but this was, again, rejected by the EA Transport
division. EA emphasised that "the primary responsibility for ensuring children get to and
from school safely rests with parents, even when a School Crossing Patrol is on duty."

School Senior Management is working hard to supervise the safe crossing of children each
morning and afternoon. We would kindly ask families to avoid parking directly opposite the crossing to ensure children can see oncoming traffic and vice-versa. This is vital to ensure the safety of children within our school.

We will continue to seek a solution to this problem as the welfare of our pupils remains paramount. We ask you to remind your children to exercise caution when walking to school and request that those travelling by car remain vigilant at the Carnhill entrance at such times.

Kindest regards
Ian Gallagher
School Principal
