Dippy on Tour
On Tuesday morning the Primary 5 classes were so eager to get on the bus to go to The Ulster Museum to visit Dippy the Diplodocus they were all in school for 8:30am. Dippy is a dinosaur who usually stays in the Natural History Museum in London, however he is currently on tour at The Ulster Museum in Belfast. The Primary 5 classes were very excited and Dippy was the first place they visited on arrival. Dippy is 26m long and has 296 bones. The boys and girls were amazed at the height of this dinosaur and especially its tail. They explored all the exhibitions and took lots of photographs to use later. They also visited the Ancient Egyptian room which is the home to Takabuti, an Egyptian mummy. We had been learning about this in WAU and pupils were amazed to see an actual mummy. As always there were lots to see and do and our time whizzed past.
