The school day begins at 8:45am and children should be in their classroom by this time. Pupils should not arrive earlier than 8:30am as supervision cannot be ensured.

All children have a 15 minute supervised break time in the morning. (weather permitting)

Absences

School attendance is computerised. This system enables us to keep more detailed information regarding each child's pattern of attendance. Registration takes place soon after 8:45am and the system will allow a teacher to record each time a child comes to school late, leaves early or is absent for part of the day. It remains the policy of the school that all absences must be explained by a note from the child's parent/guardian.

If you wish your child to leave school early to keep an appointment, a written note is also required. A verbal request from the child, or a phone call will not suffice.

On such occasion children must be collected from outside the main office. This is a safeguard for all concerned. Children are not permitted to walk home during school hours.
